Suggest A Remedy For Pain In The Knee After Knee Arthroscopy
I had arthroscopic knee surgery for extensive meniscal tears. Have had 2 failed acl recons on this knee back in the 90 s. Its been 2 weeks since surgery, I do not see Dr. for another week. I felt great one week after but now the pain is worse then before I had the surgery. Dr. said it was the worst meniscal injury he had ever seen. Should I stay off the leg until I see the Dr.???
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in the knee after knee arthroscopy . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like Chondromalacia, Bursitis, Patellar Tendonitis, Arthritis, Osteochondritis, Ton Meniscus . In your case the symptoms are probably due to post surgery complication. I would suggest you to consult an Orthopedic surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray, CT Scan , blood tests, Electromyogram etc as per suspected cause can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly. You should take anti-inflammatory painkillers, muscle relaxants, warm or cool compresses depending upon the cause, physiotherapy to relieve and strengthen the muscles, weight loss and avoiding vigorous workout and long hours of continuous standing or sitting. In severe cases doctor may recommend re surgery .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
