Suggest A Remedy For Throwing Up Mucus With Chills And Recurring Fever
Thank you. I have had cold chills and a fever off and on for a week. I am throwing up mucas. A large amount. It is not normal for me. I have been sleeping off and on for the past six days. Most symptom s seem to be subsiding except for throwing up mucus. I am taking theraflu but the mucus is what I need to get rid of. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of throwing up mucus with chills and recurring fever. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like sinusitis or viral pharyngitis. Need not to worry. You should take throat lozenges. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test and CT scan to confirm the diagnosis and rule out strep throat . Doctor may prescribe antiviral drugs (acyclovir) or antibacterial ( amoxicillin ) depending upon the diagnosis along with decongestant and expectorant . For now do warm saline gargles and take steam thrice a day . Avoid taking spicy and sharp food.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
