Suggest A Solution For Excessive Drooling After Tonsillectomy
My husband had a tonsillectomy 10 days ago (39 year old) healing is going ok, pain starting to reduce. .. but he is concerned about excessive drooling in his sleep (wakes saturated with saliva) advice would be much appreciated as to whether or not he should be concerned. Thank you
Hi, Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum. I have gone through your Query & I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.
As a physician I would like to tell you that drooling after Tonsillectomy is a common thing to happen and you need not to worry. As a the healing progresses the mucus formation and saliva formation will reduce gradually.
Meanwhile follow every instruction given by your doctor like soft diet with plenty of fluids, Oral hygiene, sleeping on your sides which will further help in the healing process and the problem will subside eventually.
Thanks for Trusting & Posting your Query on this forum. Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question. Have a nice Day.
Regards, Dr.Abhijeet
