Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am on blood pressure meds. Avapro 300/HCT 12.5. In morning and a Physitense 200ug in the morning and 1 Physiotense 200ug at night. I am also a type 2 diabetic and have been put on Protophane insulin...6 units 7.30 in the morning and 24 units at 4.30 pm. Because My bp meds being an Angiotensin and ACE inhibitor, they seem to render by bp meds ineffective and it is extremely difficult gaining bp control with this combination of meds. The bp meds have been the least side effects for me until I was put on the Protophane. Another complication is that my GGT levels in my liver are at a very high 995. This is resolving very very slowly but I think my meds are somehow responsible for the elevation. I have been very sick for 6 weeks now, had bad reactions to other insulins and not getting much help from doctors. One is an endocrinologist and been to2 gps. What insulin would be compatible with Protophane? What bp meds would be as effective as the Angiotensin or ACE inhibitors? That would be compatible with Protophane or another insulin.?
