I have peptic ulcer due to taking antibiotic tablet for a week for bacterial infection . Then after stopping the medicine I found it created peptic ulcer in my stomach so I started taking PAN IT tablet for 20 days and I am feeling better but in the night I still get gastric problem and take meals frequently can I continue the tablet for another 20 days or any other alternate is there
Hii , Welcome To HCM & Thanks For Asking Your Query Here
I have gone through Your query and will try to provide information you need on it
It is Extremely rare for antibiotics to cause peptic ulceration ,peptic ulcers are usually caused by frequent use of aspirin, ibuprofen, and other anti-inflammatory drugs ,it can also be caused by Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) bacteria , by smoking or by drinking too much alcohol
as you are taking pantoperazole and after stoping you are again having symptoms... that is rebound acidity which is due to increased acid production in response to stopping this medicine
Self diagnosis and self treatment won't help and strongly not recommended i would strongly suggest you to see a Gastroenterologist to get it examine and spot a confirm diagnosis of your health issue
I hope it help Thanks & Get well Soon
