Suggest Alternate Medications For Severe Joint And Body Aches

I am currently experiencing severe joint and body aches. All my joints pop, and chunk and crack. Actions as simple as crossing my legs will elicit lumbar vertebrae popping, knee popping and a should popping for instance. I have had a positive ANA in the past but all compliments have been negative. C4 reactive protien is always high, and WBC is usually high. I can pass both the Brighton or Breiton scales for hyper mobility. I am currently undiagnosed, but have been diagnosed with chronic gastritis, GERD, polyps in stomach and colon, Haitial hernia, and allergies. My current options for treatment are NSAIDs and acetomeniphin. I worry excessive use of OTC pain medication will cause digestive tract harm, or liver in acetomeniphins case. Any advice on what to do to help manage pain?

Hello,

You have been suffering from chronic musculoskeletal problems. A few options for pain relief are NSAIDs as you mentioned, cause gastric irritation but you can use tab. Pantop before food. NSAIDs like Ibuprofen and Aceclofenac are good options provided you have a normal kidney functioning. Opioids like Hydrocodone and Oxycodone, Tramadol can be used.

Use intra articular steroid injections in the affected joints and visco-supplementation meaning injection of hyaluronic acid into joint spaces. Topical analgesic gels can be applied over the joint. Acetaminophen can be used without any worry it's safe medication.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
