Suggest Alternate Medicine For Finpecia

Dear Doctor, After having a hair transplant about a month ago, I have been prescribed Finpecia (Finasteride tablets IP 1mg), Astymin Forte, BTN Ultra and Mintop Forte ( Minoxidil 5%). I am bothere about the side effects of Finpecia which I have been consuming since last 30 days and doctor has asked me to continue for next couple of months. Can any alternative medicine be recommended in place of this medicine? Are the side effects reversible after I stop taking Finpecia? Brgds PK

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain Finpecia that contains ative ingredient Finesteride is given in patients with Pattern Baldness as it works by suppressing Androgenic hormones that when n high concentration can cause damage to hair follicles leading to hairfall..

It however has a side effects of loss of sexual desire or Libido but is temporary and regains as soon as you stop using the medicine..
It can however be used to months together without any problem..

But in case if you do not want to use it due to side effect or if you are married and in child bearing age group you can consult a Trichologist and discuss about Saw Palmetto that is seems to have similar action like Finesteride but do not cause side effects..
Continue with Minoxidil and also take biotin and multivitamin supplements..
Take more of green leafy vegetables and fruits in diet..
Avoid stress..
Drink plenty of water..
