Hello,
Yes, hormonal pills can cause scanty periods as they can alter the natural balance of estrogen and
progesterone. Pills may cause uterine lining (endometrium) to get thinner, which means there may be less tissue to shed during
menstruation, hence scanty periods. To ensure you are ovulating, you are advised to observe changes in cervical mucus throughout your cycle.
Around ovulation, the mucus becomes clear, stretchy, and resembles egg whites, indicating peak
fertility. A slight increase of
basal body temperature is indicative of ovulation.
Transvaginal ultrasound can monitor ovarian follicles and confirm ovulation. To help menstruate normally, you are advised to take a balanced diet.
Taking home made food along with fruits, vegetables rich in iron, leafy greens, whole grains, and healthy fats, does support hormonal balance. Take food rich in omega 3 fatty acids. Vitamin D also helps maintain hormonal balance. You can take uterine tonic. If obese, lose weight. Do regular walking and exercises. Stay away from stress (emotional and physical). Avoid taking caffeine and alcohol.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
