Suggest Alternative Medication For Diclofenac

I am having tiredness, stiff neck and mood swings with this prescription I have been prescribed (Dicolfenac). What other prescription is there to take for an anti-inflamatory. I have arthritis in my knees and back. My knees are bone to bone and click when I walk. One is due to weight 243lbs and the other is due to an injury. I have also taken naproxen. It caused me to much gas. I would like something to not make me have gas and tiredness. Thank you.

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your medicine alternatives.

As you know all the non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs are prostaglandin inhibitors that means they will cause the stomach upset in one way or other. You can replace the DICLOFENAC with Accelofenac which has lesser side effects than the former one.

Also you need to take proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole 40 mg daily empty stomach in morning to keep the gastric mucosa safe.

Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any questions further.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
