Suggest Alternative Medication For Estresulfan

When we lived in Mexico qw occasionally used a medicine called estresulfan. Do you know if this medication is still available in Mexico or the U.S. or is it discontinued? If it is no longer available, is this a new product that has the same ingredients? Thank You

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Hope you are doing good.

The estresulfan, from what I can understood, is Loperamide. It is usually given for diarrhoea, if it is not caused by bacteria or virus.

My advise is if you have any symptoms pertaining to loose stools, better consult a doctor before taking any medication.

Hope you understood.

Regards,

Dr. Arveen A Sulfath
