Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My doctor only gave me 800 mg of ibuprophen and does not seem to help much, and she refused to give me pain medication, is there anything else I can do to help ease the pain. I sit at work and try to get up as much as possible as I feel sitting for long periods of time makes the pain worse.
Ibuprofen is also a pain killer and can effectively reduce pain and inflammation. In case it is not effective, a combination of ibuprofen and paracetamol can be used. Hot compress and analgesic gel can be used along with oral drugs to reduce the discomfort. Antacids or proton pump inhibitors should be taken along with pain killers to prevent any gastritis.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
