Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have chronic shoulder pain from a serious fall three years ago and am taking prescribed oxycodone 7.5 mg every 8 hours. The effect does not last the full 8 hours and I am in serious pain the last two hours before the next dose. Can the doctor increase my current dosage without me becoming more tolerant of the medication?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, pain may not be due to the fall injury because it can not last this much long, and if this is being suspected then it needs to be investigated, just increase the dose of analgesic may not be the option unless it is the just the fibromyalgia, hope this information helps.
