Suggest Alternative Medication For Calcium Channel Blockers
I have been successfully using a calcium channel blocker for heart pounding and irregular heartbeats after a stress heart attack. My dentist wants me to use a different type of meds as he says this type is causing an overgrowth of my gums. What can be successfully substituted for calcium channel blockers?
You are concerned about gum hypertrophy from your calcium channel blocker for heart attack. In my practice I would recommend switching to a beta blocker. The beta blocker does not cause any gum problems and it will also help reduce heart rate reduce angina and protect your heart. I recommend that you see your doctor to see if a beta blocker is appropriate for you.
