Suggest Alternative Medication For Fever, Chest Infection And Cough
Hi doctor my baby is 3years old and she is suffering from fever chest infection and also having cough for a week . we have been giving her pirtion suspension astharil AS and pynil.still she is not feeling well. Could we go for another drug recommend please
Hello, thanks for posting on HCM. If she is having cough, fever and you suspect there might be a chest infection then you need to give her some antibiotic for the same. The medications you mentioned are antihistamines and chest decongestants but you are not giving her any antibiotics which might clear her infection. Presence of fever strongly suggests presence of infection so that must be taken care of. I would advise you to consult your pediatrician as she might need a chest x-ray to look for severity of infection and need antibiotic according to her weight. I hope I have helped your query. Thank you
