Suggest Alternative Medication In Place Of Tolterodine Tartrate

My husband has been on Tolterodine Tartrate 4mg for more than a year. We would like to find an alternative since today s price given to me at the Pharmacy was more than $300 (said to be part of his deductible with Cigna) We paid less than half that at the beginning of last year. It is a Tier 4. Ditropan (oxybutynin) is a Tier 3 and would be somewhat less. Are there alternatives to these two drugs? Also, could they be having an effect on more nosebleeds in the past year?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Trpsium and solifenacin are the other two drugs which are effective in the hyperactive bladder with fewer side effects.

These newer agents decrease the frequency of incontinence episodes, the number of voids per day, and the number and severity of urgency episodes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
