Suggest Alternative Treatment For Ulcerative Colitis

Looking for an alternative physician specializing in nutrition, homeopathic help for ulcerative colitis. Doctors are leaning towards removing the colon from my 31 year old daughter-in-law. There has to be another method, something else that can be done to help heal this colon. No medications other than being on steroids non-stop seem to help at all. But it s never healed completely. She s back in the hospital again, very dehydrated, which is what always seems to happen. I want her to see a physician who is also attunded to possib le food allergies -- something that is aggravating the situation. Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky area.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Ulcerative Colitis is a condition that only affects the rectum and the colon. This condition recurs very frequently, the ultimate treatment is surgery which seems to stop the problem completely. This might seem like a scary decision but your daughter in law might actually get permanent relief after surgery. I hope you and your daughter--in-law make the right decision.
Have a nice day :)
