Suggest Alternative Treatment To Anastomose The Ileum To The Colon

My mother has just finished surgery for the 5th time in 20 days. The doctor has reduced the length of her ileum to 4 inches. He has just anastomotising the ileum to the colon. This is the 3rd time in 6 days for this procedure. If it doesn t work again he doesn t have any other options because of the available length of the ileum. The fistual keeps leaking. Can anyone recommend an alternative strategy?
