Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am taking metoprol 100 -and losartan 100/12.5 hctz.. Am having bad side affects such as skin itching , night cramps, dehydration etc. do you have a recommendation for a different med. when I stop taking the hctz, my BP elevates to 155/77 My email is YYYY@YYYY
Usually these medications do not cause these problems, but if these started after you started one or both of these medications, I would be suspicious of them, and consider switching to another medication if possible.
What you can switch to depends on the reasons you are taking these meds, so I would recommend discussing this with your doctor and see if they think the meds might be responsible, and what if any medications could be used instead.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
