Suggest Alternatives For Depression Other Than Drugs
I have severe depression during my pregnancy...i was a drug user but stopped as soon as i found out i was pregnant at five weeks...im thinking of using again just once im fourteen weeks pregnant now...i cant cope with this depression and started cutting...what wil one line do to my baby...what else can i do to help with this depression?
hi, I understand ur concern n am here to sort it out. Depression is basically a mood disorder n mood regulation depends on many things like gender, surroundings, life situations etc. Now as compared to males, females are more prone to depression n pregnancy related depression is a very common phenomenon among females. So if u try to keep ur mood elevated will definitely help u in coping up with ur depression. Try to do things which make u feel happy ( like reading ur fav books, listening to ur fav music, watching ur fav TV programs, even meditation helps). If u feel that all these things are not helping I would advise u to consult a psychiatrist ( to my guess he will put u on antidepressants like SSRI's-- fluoxetine, cetalopram or sertraline etc). Tc.
