Suggest An OTC Medication For Withdrawal Symptoms Of Alcohol

I have alcohol withdrawal and do not want to see a doctor for librium or ativan again... would diphenhydramine HCL be a usefull medication to get through withdrawal like librium or ativan is used. And if diphenhydramine HCL is not an appropriate medicine what OTC medication would be most effective?
