Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
It started with a mild sinus infection on my left side. Now I seem to have developed conjunctivitis in the same eye. Is there an over-the-counter remedy or will I need a prescription antibiotic from my local urgent care clinic on New Years Day... George
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sinus infection means you are suffering from condition known as sinusitis and infection in eye is due to travel of infection through sinuses. Need not to worry much. I would suggest you to take nasal decongestant sprays, Antihistamines and antibiotic combination as infection is present. Co amoxiclav is best treatment option. You should take steam inhalation. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Go for paranasal sinus X ray and get puncture and drainage of sinus if required. You can go for surgical reconstruction of opening after proper prescription. Do warm saline gargles. You should avoid intake of outside food and cold carbonated beverages.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
