Suggest An Alternative Medication For Hypertension
My BIL is on lisinopril and L-Thyroxine and he seems to sweat profusely and extremely irritable. He is normally a very quiet man but every little thing sets him off. His sweating is new and he sweats in cold rooms, getting out of the shower....doesn t matter. He has hypertension, enlarged heart and slow thyroid. What can we do?
He might be getting over treated for his thyroid. He needs to have fresh Thyroid profile as symptoms more of hyper functioning thyroid and not under functioning. It can be due to treatment but fresh profile is a must. Also, sugar levels needs monitoring with such history of profuse sweating at times. Urinary catecholamines should be monitored to rule out any condition like pheochromocytoma etc as episodic hypertension and sweating can be due to that.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
