Suggest An Alternative Medication For Muscle Pain For A 59 Year Old Male

I have been having extreme muscle and or ligament pain. I did have a fall in mid March. It was about 3 weeks after the fall that this pain was extreme. Started in my hips, sore to the point I could hardly walk. I have trouble sitting down. It hurts to bend down to pick something up, it hurts to squat and push myself back up to a standing position. I have had x-rays done and an MRI. My upper back and into my neck is now involved. It hurts to turn over in bed and consequently I sleep rigidly. I am beginning to think that since the MRI and x-rays showed nothing significant I could be having a generalized problem with my muscles. I am an active 59 yr old female. I am taking Naproxen 2X daily. It doesn t give me much relief.

Hi,

1. Please consult a physiotherapy practitioner. It would do some sitting of therapy that would relieve muscular pains.
2. If no change or advantage from physiotherapy then would need to consult a neurophysician. (not surgeon)

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Naveen Kesarwani, Dentist
