Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yes, I have been taking Nadolol [once daily in evening] to keep my heart rate down, and it did. However, it kept it too low sometimes into the 40 s. There seems to be only one dosage. Is there a milder beta blocker that would not keep heart rate so low?
It is advisable to first consult your cardiologist regarding the low heart rate of 40s as informing them about it first is very essential since these are prescription drugs.
Your doctor may lessen the dosage or change the timing to the morning instead of the evening or change the medication to other beta-blockers like Metoprolol if required. Changing medication yourself would not be advisable.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Riyanka Chail, General & Family Physician
