Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I saw my doctor yesterday and he prescribed Rabeprazole 20 mg to take before breakfast, one a day. My pharmacy said the RX would not be covered by my insurance (Medicare and supplemental) and would cost $600 for 60 pills. Can I use a less expensive substitute. My doctor is out until Monday. Thank you for your response.
You could use Omeprasole instead of Rabeprazole. They are both proton pomp inhibitors, used for high acid secretion in stomach, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, ulcers.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Gjustina Loloci,
