Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What would be a replacement for Duloxetine? I did a drug interation checker and had 4 pretty serious interactions. Its making me very depressed, grouchy and tired. I also feel short of breath. I am on clonazapam, clonadine, topiramate, wellbutrin sr ,tizanadine, and take zolmitriptan and sumatriptan as I have migraines for more than 15 - 20 days out of every month. I was given Duloxentine for severe back and nerve pain taken off my schedule lll drug that had zero side effects stopped my pain and my migraines because of the worlds reaction to addicts.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes, you are right. Duloxetin is having serious interactions with the drugs you are taking. So better to stop Duloxetin. For your nerve and back pain, in my opinion, pregabalin or gabapentin should be tried. Both are having least drug interactions with other drugs. And both are highly effective for nerve related pain. Since they are prescribed drugs, you need doctor's prescription for them. So discuss about starting any of them with your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
