Suggest An Alternative Of Tramadol

My Dr just took me off of a low dose of Tramadol used 2 times daily f or about 10 yrs. Put me on meloxicam7.5 to be used 2 times a day. This is upsetting my stomach and making me feel very tired. Also chest heavy, like shortness of breath. Is not improving my tolerance of pain at all. Can you give me another suggestions?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Well, it's a bit random to say it is the narcotic and nerve pain drug and not the stomach busting Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory that is causing stomach trouble. Either might be associated with the other symptoms. the location and movement of a pain gives clues as to what is going on and the best treatment. If it is nerve pain then anti-epileptics or any drug that damps down nerve function may help. If there are muscle spasms then muscle spasm drugs might be the best.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
