Suggest An Alternative Of Xanax For The Treatment Of Anxiety

My disabled son (47 yr. old) has a problem with anxiety and was prescribed Xanex. I am his advocate with his doctor. I saw that he was becoming addicted to it and told his doctor to cancel his prescription. Is there a non-addictive medication that you can recommend to take the place of Xanex?
