Suggest An Alternative Treatment For Dizziness, Depression And Anxiety

My son has had dizzy spells, seeing black spots. They doesn t happen to often, but on Father s Day he had the dizziness, saw black spots then fell hit the ground and had a seizure. The doctor immediately gave him seizure meds without tests. We are awaiting test now. He did just have an EEG test that came back normal. He was on Prevacid, he took an antidepressant, he has depression and anxiety, he was visiting his father and was fighting with him for the week and also had just come back from universal studios riding all the rides. He is home with me now, I watch him all day and night, at times when he gets up he gets dizzy more so now and sees dark spots, I sit him down and let him regain his thoughts before getting back up. Then he is fine.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

To me, you should:
- Monitor his blood pressure and record the results for reference especially when he has dizzy spells
- As he is experiencing dizziness when getting up, this means he might be having orthostatic hypotension and needs further investigations
- A complete cardiac check up including EKG, echocardiogram is also recommended. We should evaluate the status of his small and large blood vessels including aorta.
Discuss this further with his caring doctor.

All the best. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
