Suggest An Alternative Treatment For Intense Pain In The Stomach

Yesterday I was trying to organize stuff when suddenly felt pain on the stomach and then radiates to my left upper back. The pain was so intense that I could hardly breath. I felt my heart was racing and check my pulse it was 116. I went to immediate care clinic and did some series of test like ekg that shows sinus tachycardia and x-ray 5 views to check my spine and results shows normal. The NP diagnosed me with muscle spasm and prescribed flexeril. Started to take the medication last night and took some ibuprofen but the pain is still there.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* There can be associated components of stress-induced gastritis in which case the only intake of analgesic as ibuprofen may not help to a great extent.

I would request you to add a proton pump inhibitor as Omeprazole or Pantoprazole with the current drug basket and follow up after 24 hours about the progress of the issue.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
