Suggest An Alternative Treatment For Itchy Rashes On My Back And Arms

I have a itchy rash on my back and arms. I had a steroid shot in my cervical epidural spine last Thursday. Then I went to my sisters and worked in her yard for several days. On July third I thought I had a sign burn the next day it turned into a rash located in the center of my upper back and my forearms. I went Wednesday morning to my internist. She gave me a steroid shot, a prescription for prednisone 20mg 1 for 5 days. Now it is worse and spreading up and down my arms. Just left on vacation to Louisiana today. Miserable and itchy.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to an allergic reaction.

I suggest using Hydrocortisone cream for local application.

I also suggest to continue using Prednisone as prescribed by your doctor to relieve the symptoms.

Cold compresses can also be very helpful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
