Suggest An Alternative Treatment For Pain In The Ear

I put hydrogen peroxide in my ear after being diagnosed with an ear infection. I started taking amoxicillin 500 mg TID two days ago. I ve been having greenish drainage from my ear. The pain does not seem to be going away though. Is there a good way to know whether I ve ruptured my eardrum?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an ear infection. I suggest to continue Amoxicillin for seven days. I also suggest to use antibiotics ear drops for local treatment. I recommend using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
