Suggest An Antidepressant For Depression, Mood Swings And Sleep Disorder

My friend's husband is diagnosed with ALS. He's given a combination of multiple antidepressants and sedatives - sertraline, trazadone, zopiclone and lorazepam.

How can these drugs be streamlined?

Can you suggest an antidepressant that addresses his depression, mood disorder and sleep disorder?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. He has ALS, depression and poor sleep and is taking Trazodon, Sertraline, Zopiclone and Lorazepam. Zopilclone and Lorazepam both are good hypnotic drugs and help in sleep. Trazodone helps in good sleep as well as in depression. Sertraline is a good antidepressant drug. In my opinion he is on right therapy for depression and poor sleep. If her ALS symptoms are persisting then drugs like Riluzol can help. Consult his psychiatrist again and ask for reevaluation and if need prescription of the drug I have mentioned.
