Suggest Best Treatment For Endometriosis
My family doctor and OB/GYN suspect I have endometriosis! Currently I m only taking pain medication while I wait for my appointment with the endometriosis specialist in October! I want to have a laparoscopy done before I take any hormone therapies, and honestly I have been thinking about a hystorectomy instead of hormone therapy! My OB just keeps trying to get me to take the hormone pills and will not offer any other suggestions! He says it s better to treat the symptoms and not have an unnessecary laparoscopy! I feel the exact opposite! I want to know what I have instead of going through the side effects of the hormone pills! I feel very alone and confused! I ve done my research and found the hormone therapies to be as unfavorable as estrogen replacement after a hysterectomy! I have a special needs daughter, and my husband has had a vasectomy! We want no more children! I am 31. Do you have any advice?

You have endometriosis.
It is due to effect of estrogen on ectopic endometrial tissue in ovary.
Ideal treatment is to achieve amenorrhoea.
In my opinion you need progesterone therapy.
Hysterectomy only will not help you and oophorectomy is not advisable at your age.
You can try medroxyprogesterone.
It is prescription based medicine so consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
