Suggest Better Treatment For Blood Pressure

I am frustrated. I display severe side effects to my bp cocktail which are lisinopril, ziac, amlodipine and atenolol. I black out using norvasc. I am now on diovan hct 320/25. My bp is 140/110 . I am running out of options. I am not diabetic.Dr. says he does not know what to do and will refer me to a kidney specialist. Before I started on bp meds, my bp was 275/220.

When you was diagnosed with hypertension your bp was 275/120 and at present you are taking only diovan hct now your bp is 140/ 110.as you have mentioned you develop blackout after norvasc that is amlodipine .but you are tolerating divon hct well.i think in that initially prescribed combination it was amlodipine that was causing problem..you now can start atenolol and can see the result.apart from this you can use alpha antagonist such as prazosin etc apart from this we have clonidine moxinidine or nitrates.etc.that can be used to control your bp.but all these should be taken under supervision of a qualified doctor..hope this will help.
