Suggest Cause And Medications For Bruises In Calves?
Currently I am going on my second full month now where I have had heavy and light blood flows from my period. Now I have noticed bruises on my calves. I am starting to get worried and am curious if this will settle down or if I need to go to the hospital ASAP.
Hello! I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
If you get the bruised on your calves without having any injury or don't remember hitting the leg then it is called spontaneous bruising. Bruising without trauma irrespective of location needs a little work up. -hematological profile assessment is advised(PT,APTT,INR) -Complete blood count and platelets count. The fact that you have heavy and light periods make even more necessary these studies.
I suggest to consult a physician and get the tests done. Hope my answer has helped. Take care. Dr.Rovena
