my 29 year old daughter has painful red bumps on her scalp with swelling of the glands in her neck behind her ears. she went to the medical clinic and they couldn t define what it was. there are several bumps, no pus, no bleeding no drainage. very tender to touch

Looking to the history there might be having scalp infection like seborrhic dermatitis, fungal infection or dandruff super added with bacterial infection producing bumps on scalp and enlarged tender lymph nodes.
Consult dermatologist and get diagnosed.
After proper diagnosis, line of treatment can be decided.
Keep scalp clean and dry.
Wash with branded hair wash and use branded shampoo or conditioners.
Ok and take care.
