Suggest Cause For Swollen Testicle/scrotum With Pain In Groin
Hi my son is 15 and his right testicle/scrotum is swollen and is tender to the touch. He also is having pains in his right groin and the lower right side of his stomache. What could be causing this. Hes been to er and had an xray and ct sone because we thought it was appendicits. He does have a small stone in his appendix but there is no inflamation or infection. He never mentioned his testicle/scrotum. He just informed me of this earlier.
Hi. Thanks for your query and an elucidate history. Noted the history about your son who is 15 and has pain in the right testicle, lower abdomen and the right groin. The commonest cause of such a pain in a boy of 15 is usually testicular torsion . He needs urgent color doppler and ultrasonography to determine whether this is torsion or infection called epididymo-orchitis. The treatment will depend upon the diagnosis. Since the CT scan and other tests have been done and show to be normal, you can go for the Surgery if there is a torsion.
