Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter sweats excessively - plays volleyball and the team will come off the court and look a little sweaty my daughters hair is sopping wet and she has to change her shirt. She is always thirsty, hungry, tired and grumpy. Also, her period is really bad. She is 5"7 1/2 and weighs about 146. I am concerned. She has always been really sweaty and I always contributed her thirst to how much she sweats. Also, she is very active but lately cant stop eating.
Hello! I read carefully your query and understand your concern. Your daughter needs a complete evaluation to exclude pathological causes for her complains. She need to run some tests including: -Blood sugar to exclude Diabetes Mellitus because this condition may cause symptoms of excessive thirsty, sweats, increased appetite and weight loos. -Thyroid function tests to exclude Hyperthyroidism :FT3,FT4,TSH.
It might be normal for her to eat this way and to sweats a lot.If these tests result normal ,then you don't need to worry. It is just the way her body works. I suggest to consult a physician and get her examined.
Hope it was of help. Kind Regards! Dr.Rovena Murati
