My dad is 90 and a week ago he had a brain aneurysm on the right side and is now completly paralized on the left side. He can t swallow and is constantly sleeping although alert when we wake him up and still has his memory. Then yesterday they did another CT scan and found another aneurysm in the cerrebellum (I m not sure if that is the spelling). He is on a feeding tube through his nose, not the permanant one. What are the chances of surviving? The blood pools in his brain are big. The doctors said they are serious. Please and thank you. (I m not 100% sure if this falls under Neurologist, sorry if it doesn t.
Considering his age, major surgical intervention definitely carried high risk. However you can opt for aneurysm clipping. Consult a neurosurgeon and he will direct you accordingly.
