Suggest Complications Of Dilated Uterus
my wife is pregnant in her 20th week and she had her uterus dilated to 6 cm and part of the amniotic fluid sac slipped down the cervix and entered the vagina. the doctors couldnt do the emergent cervical cerclage , and said all she can do is rest in a decline position and she will have a miscarriage anytime within days or weeks.
my q is there anything we can or the doctors can do and if not is there a chance with a complete bed rest to reach the 25 weeks? and deliver the baby?

I understand your concern..
From what you said amniotic sac has already slipped into the vagina, so there is less possibility to save this pregnancy. Putting the patient in declining position and complete bed rest is the only treatment.. After 1 week get a repeat scan to see whether the sac has gone up. If the sac has gone up, then an encirclage can be attempted. Meanwhile uterine relaxants can be given with IV fluid to prevent uterine contraction. Though the chances are remote, let us hope for the best.. Good day.
