Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a hole in my upper left leg on the back side, I don't know what caused it but it's not healing. It's about the size of a nickle and is fairly deep and it bleeds a little and has pus. Any idea what it could be? it's somewhat painful too.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems like there has been either hair follicle infections or Folliculitis leading to ABSCESS formation or there can be infection at the big bite site or can be due to Traumatic injury.. I would suggest you to consult a physician and get evaluated and he can advise you to take antibiotics like Ciprofloxacin, if there is pain Acetaminophen or Diclofenac can be advised.. Dressing can be done by cleaning the area with antiseptic solution, draining pus and applying Triple Antibiotic Ointment over it.. If there is a hole the Physician can also pack it with a gauze dippee in antiseptic solution for asepsis and healing..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora.
