Suggest Cure For Dizziness, Tinnitus And Pressure In The Head

I have been having pressure in my head, headaches (sudden onset and dull throbbing), slight dizziness, ringing in my ears, sudden onset diarrhea (has happened a couple times) and feel extremely cold when this happens. This has occurred over the last few days. I have had a complete thyroidectomy with Hashimoto s and was diagnosed with papillary carcinoma in 1994 with subsequent I-131 radiation 3 times, the last time in 2002. I have been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and have have suffered from panic attacks, taking Xanex to help which I have not taken in over 1 year now. I take Levothyroxine, Metropolol (1/2 dose of 25mg) and several supplements as well as watch my diet (sugar intake, no gluten) to help control the anxiety and sore joints. My anxiety has been manageable w/out medication, but lately I have not been feeling well. The headaches are increasing with pressure and the fullness and ringing in my ears is getting worse. I m not understanding why. I don t typically have issues with headaches. This comes on suddenly and then seems to dissipate which kind of mimics a panic attack, I never got headaches with them before.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per my case evaluation, there is possible alteration in thyroid, parathyroid hormone or calcium levels. In our clinic, after thorough assessment of the patient, I suggest a series of lab tests for primary evaluation and later on MRI of brain if needed. Till that primary care with analgesic, anti anxiety medicines should be sorted out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
