Hi. My daughter is 2.5 months old. She is suffering from lactose intolerance as she used to do loose stools,cry excessively because of gas in her stomach and started vomitting. Her stool reducing substance test showed a postive result with colour change to green. Doctors advised to discontinue breast milk and feed her with Similac Isomil soy powder for 15 days but giving only Isomil created constipation to the baby hence doctor advised to give cremaffin to easy the stool. After 15 days of Isomil feed; the stool reducing substance test was negative. Now I am feeding the baby with one feed of breast milk and one feed of Isomil on alternate basis and giving vitazyme 0.5 ml daily and colicaid on sos. Baby is doing one or 2 stools daily but the consistency of stool is very loose. Pls advice whether it is ok to continue feeding her with isomil and bf on alternate basis and till how long isomil should b given. Also advice when to give solids as I have to join office also when she will be 4 months old.
