Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hai my child is 18 months old with 10 kgs weight.he has suffered from fever and doctor advised for widal test the report says that blood for widal is positive and st o is 1:80 and st h is 1:80 and ESR=80mm/hr.what does it mean is my child suffering from typhoid?what diet should i give him and what precautions should i take for him.doctor gave oral antibiotics and also fenciff injection for 4 days.
Thanks for the query. For infection to be labelled as typhoid, you need to test widal repeatedly and if the titre is increasing then only you can say it is typhoid fever. In your case ESR looks raised to me which might be due to some inflammation or infection. In typhoid fever there no special foods which are to be avoided. Just avoid junk food, outside water, outside food. Eat healthy nutririous home made food. Hope i helped you.
