You need to consult a doctor for appropriate medications to treat thyroid disorder. Once it is brought under control, you need not worry. Are you having weight gain? You must try to increase physical activity as hypothyroidism leads to weight gain due to slowing down of metabolism. So, you need to eat a low fat high fibre diet to reduce energy intake and expend more energy by burning calories through increased physical activity.

Brisk walk for 30-45 minutes a day and start slowly and build up gradually by increasing your duration of exercise by 5 minutes. Start with 15 minutes of daily walk.

Stay active throughout the day by climbing stairs, and avoid sedentary activities for long periods like sitting in front of TV, working on computer for long hours. If you are working and you have a deskjob, take short breaks in between and walk around for 15 minutes, if permitted.

Avoid fried foods, junk foods like noodles, pizzas, burgers. Eat more fresh fruits, raw salads, sprouts salad, low fat yoghurt/ replace soft drinks with skimmed milk /buttermilk/ coconut water /lemon water as soft drinks provide no nutrition but empty calories only.
Limit your intake of starchy foods like potatoes, white rice, white bread and instead choose whole grain cereals like whole wheat bread, chapati, broken wheat porridge or dalia, oats, oat bran and wheat bran containing products.
Avoid bakery items like cakes, cookies and pastries as they are rich in calories from fats and sugars.

Hope this will guide you in eating healthy and leading an active lifestyle.
