Suggest Diet To Be Followed To Regularize Kidney Levels
my husband was told his kidney levels are not right and was repeatedly asked if he took advil or alleve or any other kind of pain killer. He does not, but he does eat a lot of sugary things daily and drinks a lot of no calorie ice tea from a can, plus soda in restaurants daily. We aren t sure what to include or exclude from his diet. His doctor, who has been wrong before, told him to drink water instead for a month and then be retested. He does not like water.
To understand what's wrong with your husband's lab results, I should have a look at them myself. Please send a copy to me if you can. We should understand at what point his kidneys are altered. And of course, should look at other parameters too.
Yes, water is great alternative for kidney problems if it is recommended by his doctor. Should avoid : - canned foods - sugary foods/drinks - soda drinks
All of them are high in salt and soda which are not good for kidneys.
Instead, plain/mineral water and healthy foods (fruits, vegetables, etc), are the best to use.
Hope this helps. Dr.Albana Sejdini General&Family Physician
