Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I m in my 32nd week of pregnany and I m a primi gravida. My gynecologist has prescribed envepe to me as anti emetic for my hyper-emesis gravidarum. Can you please guide me on the correct way of taking the anti emetic? As in should I take it in the morning or evening and before or after meals? Should I take it with my iron and calcium supplements or not?
The recommended dose for the anti-emetic drug envepe is 2 tablets at bedtime. However for hyperemesis gravidarum I suggest you to take one tablet in the morning and one tablet mid-afternoon.
Since iron and calcium supplements may interfere with its absorption from the stomach it should always be taken on an empty stomach or two hours after having meals.
Remember this medication works best when taken 4 to 6 hours before needed (e.g., anticipated morning sickness) and should be taken on a daily basis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
