Suggest Dosage For MMR, Hepatitis-B And Meningococcal Vaccinations
Hi, This is Mohanraj from Chennai. I m going to the USA for higher studies. I was instructed to take MMR,Hepatitis B and Meningococcal vaccinations. How much would all the 3 vaccinations cost in India? How should take this vaccines? I mean what can be taken together and at what interval? Thank you in advance.
Hi Mohanraj, Thanks for posting in HCM. MMR vaccine is given in one dose administered by subcutaneous route. It is 0.5 ml in a vial. It costs about 70 to 100 rupees. Hepatitis B vaccine is given 1.0 ml through intramuscular route to deltoid region. You need to take 3 doses. It costs about 170 to 400 rupees for 1 ml vial. Meningococcal vaccine is 0.5 ml intramuscularly as single dose. It costs about 50 to 100 rupees. But generally, they charge more in hospitals where this immunisation is given. Hope the information provided would be useful. All the best and a safe trip.
