Suggest Dosage For Norco Taken For Extreme Pain Due To Kidney Stones
My son, age 44, is having his 3rd episode of kidney stone pain. His MD told him to just take the Norco generic 5/325 every 4 hours. He can also take ibuprofen. He is still in quite a bit of pain. I am a physician, so he called and asked me what the max is that he can take, and I don t know the answer. Is more than one tab every 4 hrs for a day or so dangerous? How much is safe?

Upper limit of Hydrocodone when given alone is up to 180 mg a day in divided doses. Whereas that of Acetaminophen is 4000 mg (4 g) a day. However, in combination these kind of dosas are not given as one is not sure of what kind of side effects the combination may cause in higher doses. Giving a combination of 5/325 at every 4 hour interval is fine. Thanks
